In celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month, the October 15, 2021 episode of CNN Philippines’ business newscast “The Exchange” was dedicated to the discussion of mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic.
CNN anchor Rico Hizon held interviews with mental health and wellness experts, including TaskUs’s Director of Wellness & Resiliency Vina Paglicawan. The episode talked about the increasing importance of focusing on one’s mental health and what employers can do to safeguard their people’s well-being.
Hizon asked about how TaskUs deals with employees who are feeling a degree of mental health challenges, to which Paglicawan explained, “At TaskUs, we have life coaches who are available 24/7. We also have more than 60 mental health professionals supporting our employees when they just want to talk to us or seek counseling and psychiatric or psychological consults. We also continue to do group wellness sessions and teach our employees resiliency skills that they can learn as they navigate the uncertainties of the pandemic.”
TaskUs’s culture and benefits are yielding positive results. According to Paglicawan, TaskUs recently recorded a 94% employee well-being score.
She also highlighted the huge role that leadership training plays in their wellness efforts. “We train our leaders to be more compassionate, more mindful, and more authentic so they can effectively sit down, listen well, and focus on their employees,” she said.
