TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (December 6, 2019)—Boholanos and tourists can now experience a dazzling light show akin to the Festival of Lights in Ayala Triangle, Makati City.

The City of Tagbilaran launched its musical light show at the Tagbilaran City Hall Grounds. The event, dubbed as “BRB” or Be Ridiculous Bohol, coincided with the city’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting tradition which signifies faith, hope, and unity of the Boholano community after the 2013 earthquake.

The lights show is the first of its kind for the province of Bohol and the entire Central Visayas region. Unlike the municipality of Loon’s Sidlakasilak, which is a parade of lights and street performances, Tagbilaran’s spectacle is a full 30-minute show of lights dancing to different Christmas songs. It will run until January 6, 2020 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. during weekdays and until 11:00 P.M. on weekends.

Tagbilaran Mayor John Geesnel “Baba” Yap shared, “I believe the light show will help in promoting our place. It will attract people from all walks of life to come and experience what it is like to be in Tagbilaran.”

Hundreds of Tagbilaranons also enjoyed as Filipino pop rock band Orange and Lemons performed during the event, together with local talents Loon Sidlak Kasilak Performers, Vanguardians Dance Company, and Flow Extreme Group.

The event is in partnership with TaskUs, the world’s leading provider of innovative solutions and customer support for rapidly-growing tech companies. TaskUs goes to where the talent is, and Bohol’s promising talent pool makes it the ideal place for the company to make its mark in Visayas. In line with the city’s #AsensoPaMore campaign, the light show also aims to lead Boholanos back home as more job opportunities await with TaskUs’ arrival in Tagbilaran.

Mayor Baba Yap and family, together with TaskUs representatives and Tagbilaran government officials, lead the official lighting ceremony.
