Our Trust & Safety Division of Research team contributed to the Trust & Safety Foundation’s (TSF) upcoming volume, “Trust, Safety, and the Internet We Share: Multistakeholder Insights.”

They co-authored the chapter, “Beyond Content Severity: Rethinking Psychological Impact and Wellness Care for Moderators Working with ‘Benign’ Content.”

It explains how content moderation work — including exposure to “less severe” content, vague policies and fragmented workflows — can negatively impact moderator health and performance. Authors emphasize the need to strengthen well-being support to prevent burnout and effectively tackle online harm.
