This study evaluated “The TaskUs Method 2.0” resilience program among 311 content moderators over 18 months. Assessments across three timepoints focused on resilience, burnout and secondary traumatic stress (STS).

Results showed no significant increase in STS or perceived stress. While burnout and resilience showed small declines by the 16-month mark, the overall effect sizes were minimal. The findings highlight the program’s efficacy in stabilizing mental health and preventing significant psychological distress for frontline teams working in high-risk digital environments.

Content moderators who repeatedly see false claims are at risk of starting to believe them. A study of 199 professional moderators in India and the Philippines found that exposure to misinformation increased their belief in those lies by 7.1%.

To fight this, researchers tested a simple fix: asking people to focus on accuracy the first time they see a claim. In tests with both the general public and professional moderators, this “accuracy mindset” stopped the effect entirely. The results show that while moderators are vulnerable to believing misinformation, simply pausing to consider what is true provides a powerful defense.
