TaskUs, music duo Sachet-Parampara pay tribute to employees, COVID-19 survivors, and families left behind

Published on August 24, 2021

TaskUs and Indian music composer and lyricist duo Sachet Tandon and Parampara collaborated in a special video entitled, “RISE with Us.” RISE, short for “Ridiculously Inspiring Stories and Experiences,” zooms in on uplifting stories of TaskUs employees.

In the episode, Sachet-Parampara dedicated a few songs to TaskUs’s frontline employees, COVID-19 survivors, and those who lost their loved ones due to the pandemic.

“Being a part of this initiative is our way of recognizing our frontline employees who continuously work hard for their families during these trying times,” Tandon said.

Parampara also expressed her sympathies to those who have lost their loved ones due to the pandemic. “Know that you are not alone and that you are always surrounded by love and help,” she said.

“TaskUs acknowledges the efforts and commitment of our teammates, especially during this pandemic. This serenade is for our frontline employees and COVID-19 survivors. We also hope to honor the loved ones we have lost due to the virus,” said Sapna Bhambani, TaskUs Vice President of Operations for India.

TaskUs India teammate Gulrez Mansuri was the first plasma donor in the city of Dewas.

A glimpse of hope

RISE with Us is an effort of TaskUs to provide hope and courage for its employees amidst the ongoing global pandemic.

TaskUs Teammate Gulrez Mansuri, who is a COVID-19 survivor himself, lost his father due to the viral disease. His father was the first case recorded in the city of Dewas and one of the more than 400,000 deaths reported in India as of August 2021.

“It was and still is a very difficult time for me and my family,” Mansuri shared. “After losing my father, my wife and I both acquired the virus, causing us to spend some time away from our kid.”

He added that going through the sickness and loss made him realize the things that truly matter in life and how important it is to prioritize health more than anything else. “This is a wake-up call for us to invest in and take good care of our well-being, not just for ourselves but also for our families. We should take extra precaution and do our part in ending this pandemic,” he said.

Continuous effort

As part of keeping its employees and their loved ones safe, TaskUs announced last May that it is extending its free COVID-19 vaccination offer to immediate family members. In June, TaskUs worked with the local government and private hospitals in Indore to procure vaccines for its first vaccination drive, where over 500 TaskUs employees successfully received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

“As we continue to try keeping our teammates and their loved ones safe, we are more hopeful that we can overcome these challenges and bounce back stronger—together,” said Bhambani.

The health and safety of teammates remain the topmost priority of TaskUs. Apart from taking its entire India workforce back to remote work due to the surge in COVID-19 cases, TaskUs covers COVID-19 testing costs and provides a 14-day paid leave for those who test positive. TaskUs also has its own Wellness and Resiliency team and offers free programs that are available 24/7 to support employees’ mental health during this pandemic.
