Yahoo report provides a sneak-peek into life at TaskUs Bohol

Published on September 9, 2021

In a recent Yahoo report, a Learning Experience Leader from TaskUs Bohol shared his journey of relocating to Tagbilaran to work with TaskUs. The report focused on how many digital workers are relocating to rural towns to avoid being under strict lockdowns in most metropolitan cities.

Chardie Remorta, 26, first worked as an agent in two business process outsourcing (BPO) companies in Cebu City for roughly seven years. However, he admitted that he never fully adjusted to urban life; he just stayed there mainly because the best opportunities were always in the city—or so he thought.

Not until he had the opportunity to relocate to Tagbilaran, Bohol.

“There are many pros here. There are very beautiful beaches and very friendly people – after all, Bohol is not called the ‘City of Friendship’ for nothing!” Remorta shared. “Also, I am still always surprised by how everything is so quiet and peaceful here by 7 in the evening. Every shop was already closed by that time. Whereas in the city, life is just starting, right?”

Remorta said that what he appreciated the most is the free life coaching sessions at TaskUs. These sessions are “a huge deal” for people especially with the mental health challenges brought by the pandemic. “I have a weekly schedule with a mental health professional that is provided by TaskUs,” Remorta told Yahoo. “I also join group sessions where I join my co-employees and friends. I realize that I am not alone and that I can be with other people on this journey if I choose to. I feel like the heavens made a way for all of us to meet here in Bohol.”
