On this, the 11th anniversary of September 11th, I’m taking a second to pause and reflect on where I was 11 years ago today. I was getting dressed for school when my dad called me into his room to see the horrific events unveiling on the news. The world had changed. My story, similar to many Americans on that day, was one stricken with fear and grief.
Today, I’m also reflecting on all that has happened in the past 11 years. I am truly thankful for the opportunity to graduate high school, complete my college degree and build a successful business. Being able to achieve all of these milestones is inherently part of the American dream. 9/11 was a watershed event that could have weakened our nation’s spirit, but the end result was actually bringing us closer together.
No man embodied the American spirit more than Pat Tillman.
Today, I am announcing that I will run the New York Marathon in support of the Pat Tillman Foundation. In March, you helped me raise over $8,000 to send four incredible kids in the Philippines to great schools. I’m asking for your support again. Please donate to the Pat Tillman Foundation at runnyc2012.com and help support all the courageous men and women that have protected us over the past 11 years.
All donations are deeply appreciated. Thank you.
9/11: We will never forget. God bless America.
