SANTA MONICA, Calif. - April 5, 2017 - Today, TaskUs announced “ridiculously good” news about the company’s domestic expansion, breathing new life into a local landmark. The business process outsourcing company has seen year-over-year growth in both revenue and number of employees. With its proximity to Silicon Beach and greater Los Angeles, the space at the Santa Monica airport is ideal for TaskUs’ new headquarters.
The project, a 6,193-square-foot space previously home to the restaurant Typhoon, was designed and executed by global design firm Unispace and is expected to be completed in October. TaskUs headquarters currently houses 55 employees, a number they expect to grow to at least 70 employees by the end of 2017. The larger footprint will accommodate the growth of the headquarters team.
“We love this location and we’re excited to be part of its revitalization,” said CEO Bryce Maddock. “The space itself is rich in local history and our team frequented Typhoon, so there’s a sentimental value to us personally. It reminds us of how far we’ve come, from TaskUs’ humble two-person beginning to the more than 7,000 team members we now have worldwide.”
The new office will showcase inspiration from the airport itself, as well as include elements which nod to the company’s global network. Santa Monica has been the corporate headquarters for TaskUs since its launch in 2008, but the company has a global presence with offices throughout the Philippines, Latin America, New York, San Francisco and San Antonio, Texas.
The TaskUs and Unispace teams have dubbed the space “TaskForce One” and say the design will reflect the forms and shapes created by various modes of transportation. With sweeping panoramic windows and views of the tarmac, the backdrop of the airport offers creative inspiration and a reminder of the interconnectedness of our world.
