Today is my first day back at the Santa Monica office after a 2-week stint of working in our office in the Philippines. Aside from the amazing career growth opportunity, the TaskUs culture is one of the biggest reasons I accepted my offer. Companies typically use their culture as a selling point to prospective employees and it’s very rare that it’s all that it’s cracked up to be. This is not the case here.
Our center in the Philippines is constantly growing and although our numbers far surpass 300 employees, we have managed the keep the culture vibrant and alive. Karen Infantado, one of our Client Success Managers, leads the charge and heads our Happiness Committee (yes, we really have one)! The Happiness Committee helps us celebrate holidays and special milestones that our teams achieve. This past week, Karen and the team worked diligently to put together our 2nd annual Halloween party.
Each team had their own costume theme and prepared a short and entertaining skit. We, of course, had costume contests, one individual and one team prize was awarded. Let’s not forget about the karaoke machine either. For those of you who don’t know, karaoke is very popular in the Philippines and I was lucky enough to hear our employees’ renditions of Justin Bieber, Celine Dion and Alphaville. Many future TaskUs employees tagged along side their parents to join in on the festivities and their cuteness was palpable.
This is the icing on the cake for me and it is true, at TaskUs, we definitely work hard and have fun. Company culture is not tangible and can be hard to define. Our team in the Philippines takes great pride in keeping the culture alive, and it’s a privilege to be able to say that not only are we working with great people, but with great family.
