The TaskUs Story

TaskUs founders, Bryce Maddock and Jaspar Weir, have been business partners since their teenage years at Santa Monica High School. In 2008, they left their jobs to start a virtual personal assistant company that would allow busy professionals to outsource theirs lives, one task at a time.

Bryce and Jaspar started working with service providers from more than a dozen different countries and testing out skill sets that ranged from data entry to blog writing. Time and time again, they found the best work and teams came from the Philippines — which has now surpassed India as the number 1 destination in the world for business process outsourcing.

Based on their experiences with the Philippines, the founders built their first office in Manila in 2009 with a core team of five team members — with a slightly different vision. While working on the virtual assistant business, the founders quickly realized that the  service they were offering to busy professionals was actually much more in demand for rapidly-growing businesses. With a team in place and a new vision for changing the way work gets done, TaskUs was born. It didn’t take long for the most innovative companies in the world to come knocking seeking TaskUs’s exceptional customer care and back office support — both characterized by a fanatical level of customer service and attention to detail that earned the company the title of being “ridiculously good outsourcing.”

The rest, as they say, is history.

Today, many of the biggest and most exciting companies in the world trust TaskUs with their vital business processes so that they can focus on true innovation. As a result the little company that started with two childhood friends to an international organization of more than 1500 people. TaskUs today is expanding rapidly and has transformed from something more than a company — it is a movement.
